This 1954 Superman vs. The Robot lunch box sold for an astounding $11,865 this weekend at Philip Weiss Auctions.
The colorful graphics show Superman flying at The Robot on one side, while the other side has him smashing through a brick wall while carrying an airplane. The lunch box was in mint condition and is considered the Holy Grail of rare and vintage lunch boxes.
I know there are plenty of Superman fans and lunchbox collectors (myself included) who were drooling over this item, and I send a hearty congratulations to the lucky buyer.

Hi Cliff: I just found this web site and saw your email. I have a 1954 Adco Liberty Superman lunch box which has been in my possession for 65 years. It is rated at about a strong 8 & 1/2 to a 9 in condition !

Hi. I have a Superman 1954 lunch box in very good condition. It was used for carrying lunch during grade school. Everything is intact and all the art work is still vibrant. There is some wear on the hinges. Missing the thermos. Interesting in selling.
